Psalms 61

This was greatly needed by me today to read and to get into my soul. How I Love the Psalms and how God gives us comfort and  grace through His Powerful Word.
Ps 61:1 ​​​​​​​​Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer;
Ps 61:2 ​​​​​​​​from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I,
Ps 61:3 ​​​​​​​​for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.
Ps 61:4 ​​​​​​​​Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
Ps 61:5 ​​​​​​​​For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
Ps 61:6 ​​​​​​​​Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations!
Ps 61:7 ​​​​​​​​May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
Ps 61:8 ​​​​​​​​So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.
The key word here is vows,vow which in the Hebrew tells us that a vow or vows are a promise or promises to God. I believe that when we make a vow that it is very serious and should not be taken lightly or with a flippant attitude. Are you keeping your vows?

Time of reflection

Last night I sat with my bride Laura and we watched Greg Laurie of Harvest Ministries do what I would call an old-fashioned explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our need for salvation,as I watched I remembered back a few years ago when I would lay on the floor in front of the TV in my parents house in Dayton,Ohio on Creighton Ave. and watch Billy Graham Crusades. In watching Greg it brought back many memories of those times when 3 or 4 nights Billy would preach and explain as Greg did last night our need for Jesus and why we need to make our decision that very night because you didn't know what tomorrow may bring.

 And I would wonder then as a boy 11 or 12 years old.

First WHY? Then a Second thought came into my mind ; Jesus Christ loved me so much He took my sins and all the sins of men and hung on the cross and die for you and I. My young mind at the time had a hard time understanding that but I do remember how I felt when Billy would look at the camera and tell us of the Love of God, that He sent His Only Son to pay the price that no man could have paid.Plus how we could never earn our way into Heaven or work our way in.Very real and very powerful! Now know that as I remembered and reflected on those times I remembered feeling the Holy Spirit move and I became warm sometimes(because every time Billy Graham's crusades came on my parents watched them) and  I understood that this was a big deal not to be taken lightly.
So last night Laura and I watched Greg Laurie preach a very powerful and moving  story from Luke 15:11-32 about the Prodigal Son and he used that story that Jesus told to show the world the nature of our Loving God who lets us make those choices which lead us into the pigpens of life and how when we have exhausted all our money,time,efforts to make it in the world,when we are broken,in the pit of despair we can turn back to a Forgiving and Wonderful God who runs to embrace us when He sees us returning back to Him! I know so of you may not get this but I too didn't get it completely as a kid but as a man I see the need for Jesus Christ in everyone's life now more than ever. And you don't have to be like the Prodigal son or daughter to accept Jesus. You can decide today!
So here's the big question to you. Where are you going to spend Eternity?
 Heaven: A place of immeasurable joy,love,peace, being and seeing God face to face, living forever. OR hell a Place of torment and pain,where no relief will be given ,only sorrow,horrible suffering that will never end.A place void of Light,God. Don't be fooled by the common things we all have heard from time to time.The lies and falsehoods,false doctrines twisted, taught by the father of lies who will try to the very end to deceive,destroy,and take down as many souls as he can before the Day of the Lord comes upon the whole world and when he will be thrown into the Pit!
Mankind is not making good choices! Contrary to what CNN,MSNBC or any world leaders tell us and we  do have a nature of sinful ways,self-centeredness,living as if tomorrow will never come,feeding the lusts of the eyes,the lusts of the flesh and please don't be fooled by the misconception that there are many ways to Heaven and no matter what the Bible says we all get in just because we have done good deeds. satan the counterfeiter has lied to mankind for thousands of years and people believe that garbage because they feel entitled or I deserve it now all the pleasures of life and of these are excuses for bad behaviour and they are SIN. And the wages of SIN are death! Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Our problems as human beings are the same as in the days of when Jesus walked the earth just on a bigger scale. We can see the world events instantly as they happen and we can watch shows that attack our souls daily breaking down our moral,spiritual ideas till we become filled with darkness and despair straight from hell itself! Life without Christ!
So you ask yourselves Is it too LATE? Not as long as you have breath to speak and a heart that beats! Confess that you are a sinner and that you need Jesus Christ who lived,was crucified, died,rose again and will return someday to judge the living and the dead, that from now on you will follow Jesus Christ and change your ways by letting Him into your heart,mind,and soul from this day forward. To be a Follower of the Messiah,the Lion of Judah
You may ask how do I know what to do after I say this prayer and have Jesus in me? Well get a Bible or borrow one and read the Gospel of John,Talk to God and ask for Him to lead you by His Holy Spirit to show you a church that teaches the UNcompromising WORD of God and doesn't have you do dead rituals and traditions of men that will not get you Salvation, any growth in Jesus.
Be Blessed this day and always remember Jesus is the Way,the Truth and the Life and NO man comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. John 14:6

It makes my heart happy to see that more and more are seeing the depth,wisdom in God's Will. I am sad see that the churches in America are starting to blend and are becoming as Christ spoke about in Revelation
Rev 3:15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot!
Rev 3:16 So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth!
Such is the place we are headed unless those of you whom are being prompted by the Holy Spirit to get into the Word of God and study and understand the Real Alive Truth in Christ and not the Used Car salesman type of church that many are following. Many are called BUT few are chosen!

September 26 - Apples of Gold

Christ will continue to reveal Himself to us, and we will continue to reflect His character. As we do, whatever gift He wants to manifest through us for a particular occasion, or whatever way He wants to motivate, encourage, and fulfill us in spreading His love, or whatever gift He wants us to become to the Body, will be made known to those around us without particular emphasis and without recourse to hype, self-promotion, research, questionnaires, or inventories.

"Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith." Romans 12:6

Rituals and traditions of men

How many of you feel as if your day isn't complete when you get up you brush your teeth,wash your face and drink your coffee. That is a thing you do each day.Now many of us have become complacent in dealing with our spiritual being, many of us have become caught up in the rituals of men in our worship and in our understandings of God ,Jesus,The Holy Spirit. You ask me how? By the fact that we have allowed preachers,teachers,and others to mold and form our ways and thoughts about how we believe and we don't open God's Word to find the TRUTH. We have allowed this to happen and we make excuses why we don't dig deeper and get more intimate,personal with Jesus. Saying these excuses we all have used from one time or another like "I am too busy.",My family needs me to do _____ fill in the blank., I am just to tired after a full day of work,or I don't understand what I am reading. There are many reasons we tell ourselves and at the time we feel that they are valid,but I tell you this if you and I don't study,read,dig into God's Word and really get His Words into your souls you will follow anything that sounds like it is spiritual or it sounds like God's Words. DO NOT LEAD DOWN THE WIDE PATH TO HELL FOLKS! The only way you or I can battle against this wave of confusion is by getting into the words and starting your day in Studying, PRAYER,reading Scriptures and leading a way of life that is different and is God Honoring.
Paul writes in Colossians and I believe and know that when we remove the rituals and traditions of men from our walk with the Lord Jesus Christ we can be free and we can be infused with wisdom,knowledge and then share this joyful understanding with as many as will have ears to hear and eyes to see.Amen!

Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
Col 1:19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,
Col 1:20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Col 1:21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds,
Col 1:22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,
Col 1:23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Names of God

How many of you remember the name of your best friend growing up? Or the name of your first love? How about your great-grandma or great-grandfather? As I can recall all of those names I figured you all could too. Now don't you think that the Names of God should be more important for us to know then our family,or  friends from our past? So I put together the list of as many as I could and if you all know any that I may have missed please let me know.

"Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory [is] above the earth and heaven." Psa 148:13

In the Old Testament times, a name was not only identification, but an identity as well. Many times a special meaning was attached to the name. Names had, among other purposes, an explanatory purpose (e.g., Nabal, whose name means "fool," is the target of Abigail's explanation to David: "For as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and folly is with him:" - 1Sa 25:25). Throughout Scripture God reveals Himself to us through His names. When we study these names that He reveals to us in the Bible, we will better understand who God really is. The meanings behind God's names reveal the central personality and nature of the One who bears them.

Is He your Most High God, All sufficient One, Master, Lord of Peace, the Lord Who Will Provide? Is He your Father? We must be careful not to make God into an "it" or a "thing" to which we pray. He is our Jehovah Raah, the Lord our Shepherd. God knows us by our name, shouldn't we know Him by His?

Who is God to you? Do you know Him in a personal way as ABBA Father,Dad? Or is God some abstract understanding whom you have never ready taken the time to know Him? Jesus Christ died for you and me for payment for all the sins and Jesus paid that price with His BLOOD!  Give your life to CHRIST.

May Jesus guide and protect you this day.
