God's words/Be Amazed!

(1Cor 14:1 [NET])
Pursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.

(1Cor 14:2 [NET])
For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to people but to God, for no one understands; he is speaking mysteries by the Spirit.

(1Cor 14:3 [NET])
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and consolation.

(1Cor 14:4 [NET])
The one who speaks in a tongue builds himself up, but the one who prophesies builds up the church.

(1Cor 14:5 [NET])
I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be strengthened.

Some of you may at one time or another have heard someone speaking in what sounds like complete confusion and a bunch of sounds that are not of this world. If you haven't had the chance to be at a church that believes and works in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I will try to help you understand. The bible is the source of all our answers to our questions. And one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are speaking in Tongues which breaks down to mean a language not naturally acquired, as the scriptures state it is God's words that He places in you.  And this speaking is communication between you and God unless someone in your church interprets what was said. Also as you can read the bible gives us understanding about what it is supposed to do.
For Edification which means encouragement, building up,to exhort,a urgent request for help, solace.

But at the beginning we must earnestly seek, covet, desire, have a zeal (a enthusiastic devotion, tireless diligence for something,to have a fire, passion, fevour, keenness for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The last verse tells us the church or the Body of Christ should receive the words. And to receive means to take,to get it a hold of,accept, and the one Ilike the best is to be AMAZED!
Are you amazed in the church you are at? If not find one and stick with it and grow and learn and RECEIVE   the gifts God has for you.
